I have had hard stools problem since few years which has caused hemorrhoids and anal fissures.?

I drink 10-12 glasses of water, eat a healthy diet with fiber, and have metamucil everyday. But none of the above remedies are helping me. Every time I go to potty- I've to strain hard and hence I end up with little blood on the wipe tissue. I have used preparation H, and other oinments- but nothing has worked for me. My main problem is hard stools:-(. How can I prevent re-occurence of hard stools?

OMG, stool softners? Who are these people suggesting this garbage? Your problem is digestion. All digestion goes from North to South, Top to Bottom. When you have a problem like this, don't look at the bottom and try to fix it, start at the top.
