Dads having his hemorrhoids removed...?

My Dad is going in on Tues to get his hemorrhoids removed. I guess they're going to tie them off or something like that. He wanted to ask if he can get a few pain pill for if it should hurt after. I've read it doesn't usually hurt but for some people it does. Do you think the Dr. will be OK with giving him some?? Or maybe they do anyways??

Um, my mom had that surgery as did my uncle. I hate to scare y'all, but they said it was very, very painful. My mom didn't want to eat for weeks. Your Dr. will probably have no problem giving your dad pain pills. Tylenol 3 is great, Oxycodone is good too, but be careful with it cause its a narcotic and HIGHLY addictive. But it works really well. Also, tell your dad that if he has alot of pain, to sit in a warm bath. My mom said this helps alot.
